How we invest, trade and teach.
We put our own money in the market every day. This is the discipline behind it, and the reason you will not find a stock tip anywhere on this site.
Process over prediction
Nobody knows where Nifty will be in March, and the people who sound most certain are usually selling something. A good process survives being wrong: it sizes positions so a wrong call is a bruise, not a break, and it has a rule for getting out before the rule is needed. A good prediction has none of that. We teach process, and we are suspicious of anyone selling predictions.
Risk is the only thing you control
Returns are the market's to give or withhold. What is yours is how much you put at risk, how much leverage you carry, and whether you are in the market at all. Every course we run spends more time on those three decisions than on finding the next idea, because that is where most money is actually lost.
Investing and trading are different jobs
Owning a business for years and trading index options for days need different skills, different time horizons and different temperaments. Most people are badly served by advice that blurs the two. We do both, with separate capital, separate rules and separate journals, and we teach them as the separate crafts they are.
If we can't explain it simply, we don't understand it
Building quantitative systems for investment banks and asset managers and running the finances of large companies taught us a lot. None of it is useful to you unless it can be explained plainly. Every lesson is written so you can re-explain it to someone else, and that is the test we hold ourselves to.
Our track record
We invest in Indian equities for the long term and trade index futures and options with defined risk, with our own capital, and have done so for years. We also know how easy it is to make a number look good on a website.
So here is our position. We will publish our performance only when it can be independently verified, which is what SEBI's new framework for verified past returns is designed to do for registered firms. Until Elevator Capital is registered, we make no return claims at all, on this site or anywhere else. Anyone promising you returns, verified or not, deserves the same question we would ask of ourselves: who checked?
What we can show you today is how we work: our rules, our journals, and the post-mortems of trades and investments that went wrong, using data that is at least three months old. That is the material our courses are built on.
Disclosure. Elevator Capital is an education and content company and is not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser, research analyst or portfolio manager. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any security, and the market data in our teaching material is at least three months old, in line with SEBI's guidelines on investor education.
